Therapy with Me
Prospective clients ask me how do I conduct sessions, what are they like? I have to say that most of them are conversational. We talk about things. I ask a lot of questions. Sometimes there is laughter and sometimes there are tears. However, no matter what is going on, I make sure you feel safe and comfortable to open up.
A typical treatment plan includes three sessions during the week and it goes as follows:
Session One (usually 30min): We meet one time and that’s where your story comes in. It’s the Narrative of your life. During that session, I ask a lot of questions. Questions are very powerful. Not only they help me understand you better but they also help you understand yourself, they help you change how you look at things, and help you re-write your story. If you want to learn more, click on the word “Narrative”for more information!
Session Two (usually 16min): Depending on your symptoms (PTSD, Anxiety, Panic attacks, etc) we have to a concrete way of helping you feel better and alleviate those symptoms. That could be any of the modalities that you see on my web page. Let’s say we picked CPT or Hypnosis. We engage in that modality during this session.
Session Three (usually 15min): This is the follow up for session Two. In this session we talk about how was session Two, did it work? Did it feel comfortable? Is there anything we need to change to make things better and more effective?
Therapy is a collaboration between everyone in the room! And the more we engage in, the more we get out of it!
